showbizzle

showbizzleLast spring, I posted about how Lindsey Rosin (C’07, The Excelano Project, The Writers House, Kappa Alpha Theta) joined forces with her father Charles Rosin (Executive Producer of Beverly Hills 90210 for the first five seasons) to relaunch www.showbizzle.com, a new form of internet entertainment that combines daily updates of original, scripted video content with a social network aimed at emerging actors, writers, directors, fans of the biz – basically anyone with a computer who is looking for some fun entertainment.

Now, Showbizzle is launching an open casting call starting October 26th through November 22nd to give one talented individual the opportunity to be cast on the show.

Actors are invited to perform a contemporary monologue in “showbizzle style”, choosing from one of the original audition monologues provided on the website, or one from a different source. Complete details can be found HERE.

Only members of the showbizzle community are eligible to audition. Membership is free and open to all. Visitors to the site can view all audition videos; only registered members can vote on who will receive a callback.

Those who survive the preliminary audition:

  • will be featured on the site during the final casting period, November 23rd through December 10th
  • The community will select the actor who is ultimately cast to guest star in an original episode of showbizzle.
  • The new cast member, announced December 11th, will receive a weekend trip to Los Angeles for the filming (or the cash equivalent if local) where they will meet with a Hollywood casting director and agent and have a photo session with a professional headshot photographer. They will also receive a one-year membership in an online casting website, plus a $250 cash stipend.

"Because of Penntertainment, I got scouted for Nickelodeon. I had such a great time talking with them. I may be a resource for a show on science, travel, geography, gender etc. Thanks for all you do. It really makes a difference."
